FAQ

We have been in business since 1985 so there isn’t much our auto electricians haven’t come across.

Find the answer to your auto electrical problems here! We have answered some of the most frequently asked questions, however if you don’t see your query, just give us a call.

  • WHEN DO I SEE AN AUTO ELECTRICIAN INSTEAD OF A MECHANIC?

Auto electricians are qualified to look after a vehicle’s air conditioning and electrical systems, while mechanics specialise in the mechanical side, such as the engine. So, if it’s related to components of your car computer system (such as warning lights on the dash, battery, headlights and signal lights, electrical brake systems, wiring, etc.), instead of general servicing or repairs of motor parts, we’re the team to call.

  • WHY IS MY VEHICLE’S AIR CONDITIONING NOT BLOWING COLD AIR?

The cause could be one of a few things, including compressors not engaging, a fluid leak or a number of other issues. A common misconception is that the air conditioning needs a “top up” of gas. Bring your vehicle in and we’ll run diagnostics to get to the bottom of the problem fast.

  • CAN AUTO ELECTRICIANS FIX TRAILER BRAKES, LIGHTS AND TRAILER PLUG PROBLEMS?

We sure can! If yours is causing you grief, give us a call.

  • WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TROUBLE WITH A STARTER MOTOR AND AN ALTERNATOR?

Have a look at your battery charge light. If your battery charge light comes on while driving, you’re possibly looking at an alternator problem. While if your vehicle is having trouble turning over, your starter motor could be the problem. Either way, we can check it out for you.

  • HOW DO I KNOW WHAT SIZED BATTERY I NEED?

Our team will handle this for you; however you’ll be able to find your battery group size in your vehicle’s owner manual. The group number should also be printed on your existing battery. Pop in for a free battery check to make sure all is well.

  • WHICH IS THE BEST BATTERY CHARGER?

Have you looked at our solar and battery combinations? This will save you plenty of money while out on the road and means you can stay in one place for longer. A large range of battery chargers and jump start packs are available now. Buy locally for guaranteed warranty on your purchases.
